Adventure Day Trip Planning


The mountain biking portion of your adventure will be arranged through Shasta Gravity Adventures.

For the white water part of your day, we will raft on either the Tree of Heaven run on the Klamath River or on Upper Sacramento River. We will let you know prior to your adventure which river we will meet at. Details for both are shown below.

When: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Meeting Time and Place – Rafting Tree of Heaven

Where: Tree of Heaven Campground
When: 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Traveling North on I-5, take the third Yreka exit, turn left under the freeway; at the stop sign, turn right onto Hwy 263. Go for about 8 miles. When you come to Hwy 96, turn left. Tree of Heaven is 4 miles down the road, the first campground on your left.

Driving time from Mt. Shasta, 1 hr

Meeting Time and Place – Rafting Upper Sacramento

Where: Sims River Access
When: 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Traveling on I-5: Travel south on I-5 from Mount Shasta. Take the SIMS exit, follow the road down to the river, cross the railroad tracks, turn right onto a small dirt road just before the bridge.

Driving time: Sims is about 30 minutes south of Mt. Shasta

What To Bring

Mountain Biking

  • Bike (if you need a bike rental, note they are not included in price of the trip)
  • Helmet

Rafting

  • Swimsuits or shorts
  • Tennis shoes, river sandals or river booties
  • Wool, fleece or polypropylene socks
  • Polypropylene, capilene or other synthetic top
  • Long sleeve wool or fleece top
  • Lightweight rain gear
  • Wool or fleece hat, sun hat
  • Sunglasses with straps
  • Sunscreen and lip balm

  • Some extra cash if you want to tip your guides. They appreciate it!

  • Coast Guard approved life jackets and helmets
  • Wetsuits and paddle jackets when needed

  • Inflatable Kayaks, if requested

Safety

Your safety and comfort are our utmost concern. Safety procedures will be explained in detail prior to your biking and river trip.

Our mountain bike guides are experienced, BICP certified professionals and certified in First Aid and CPR. All guides have first aid kits and extra bike tools/tubes.

Our river guides are mature, skilled professionals, certified in first aid and CPR. All trips are equipped with first aid kits and river rescue equipment.

Because of the inherent risks involved with any outdoor activity, we are required to have you sign an acknowledgment of risk and release of liability before your trip.

Inflatable Kayaks

Our self-bailing inflatable kayaks are one-person rafts, very stable, easy to paddle and immense fun. At safe water levels, we bring a few to share on our class II runs.
