"There was a well-choreographed balance between team work and individual
challenge. Everyone was unanimous in their delight with the trip."

Adventure infuses magic into our lives and
feeds our souls. It lifts us out of our daily routines into the unexpected.
It deepens and expands our horizons and, by connecting us with something
far greater than our own selves, it makes us wiser.
Spring Rafting
When days grow longer and winter snows begin
to melt in the high country, creeks spring to life, rivers swell...spring
unfolds in an extravagance of budding trees, new tender grasses and wildflower
splendor.
Spring rafting means action!
The northern frontier of northern California is a land unique
for its physical diversity and unparalleled raw beauty: legendary and
majestic snow capped Mt Shasta, rugged mountain ranges, vast forests,
abundant wildlife, crystal clear lakes and a dense wild and scenic river
system. This is the home to some of the most outstanding whitewater
rivers and some of the best spring runs in the country.
The Sacramento, largest
of California rivers, is born in the Eddy mountains. Before it merges
with the McCloud and Pitt rivers and becomes a huge valley waterway,
it is a swift mountain river careening through a narrow, lush canyon with
cascading side streams and breathtaking views of Mt Shasta and Castle
Crags. The most popular rafting run starts at Sims, just 12 miles south
of Mt Shasta City. The pace is fast with rapids around every bend.
The California Salmon is
a major tributary of the Klamath river. It springs to life in the isolation
of the Marble Mountain Wilderness. Spring rains and snowmelt turn in into
one of the finest whitewater runs in the whole state. Sparkling blue waters
rampage through majestically sculptured granite walls in a series of
exhilarating class IV and V rapids.
The Scott river begins its
journey in the Trinity Alps, meanders through the ranch lands of the
Scott Valley, then plunges into a deep forested canyon. This is an exceptional
class V run with long boulder garden rapids and big drops requiring precise
maneuvering, all at a ferocious pace!
Spring boating requires a
healthy respect for the natural world when it's flush and full. To help
foster that respect, River Dancers offers a whitewater
school open to anyone seeking a better understanding of river hydraulics,
safety issues, rescue techniques and leadership skills.
Spring
whitewater rafting is about challenge and teamwork. Good fitness level,
swimming skills, spirit, courage and wisdom are a must. Call us or email
